Throwback To Alan Jackson's First Ever TV Appearance In 1985

Updated: Dec 16, 2022

Takin' y'all back in time.

The year is 1985 and Alan Jackson, who apparently went by just "Al" back then, makes his first ever Television appearance on the show most of you probably have never heard of, "You Can Be A Star."

The show had many contestants but strangely enough, Alan Jackson wasn't one of them. Alan worked for the network and got to sing George Jones hit song "He Stopped Loving Her Today" for a live audience as the show went into commercials.

Keith Steal, who was a judge for the singing competition at the time, heard Alan sing for the very first time that day and went on to write and produce many of his songs in the future.

The rest is history.
