On This Day In 2017, Luke Combs Releases His Debut Album "This One's For You"

The rest is history.

Five years ago today, Luke Combs released his debut studio album, "This One's For You" and Country music hasn't been the same since.

The record features his first three No. 1's in "Hurricane," "When It Rains It Pours," and "One Number Away."

Almost exactly a year later, Luke released the deluxe version that featured "She Got The Best Of Me" and "Beautiful Crazy," both issued as singles as well.

This album is significant in many ways. First, Luke has spoken many times about the rejection he faced early on in his career. How he auditioned for The Voice and was basically told he was "interesting" enough. How he took a few songs to a meeting with a record label and they told him he wasn't a good song writer, yet those three exact songs were the first three No. 1 singles of his career.

This One's For You hit No. 1 on the Country charts a month after it's release and intermittently continued at that spot for the following two years. It's total of 50 weeks at the top of the chart tie the record for the longest time spent atop the chart by any album. It's also now certified double platinum by the RIAA

Since the release of this, Luke Combs has become one of the biggest and most popular acts in the genre. Selling out stadiums, winning Entertainer Of The Year at the CMA's and having all of his radio singles he's ever released go No. 1.

Annnnd, he's just gettin' started.
