Dolly Parton To Host 2022 ACM Awards

The ACM Awards are getting another big shakeup.

This year, it has been confirmed by the Academy of Country music that Dolly Parton will host the 57th annual ACM Awards. Parton has hosted once before, but that was over two decades ago in the year 2000.

This comes as yet another change since since after it being released that the ACM Awards will be streamed, commercial free, on Amazon Prime for the first time in history, leaving longtime network CBS.

Let's be honest, a huge reason the show is leaving CBS is due to it's high budget and continual drop in ratings over the past few years. I don't know how, but these shows truly get shittier every year, and that also includes the CMA's. But don't forget that Mickey Guyton (I know, who the hell is she, right?) got to host alongside Keith Urban last year during pre-taped performances due to the pandemic. Yuck.

Dolly Parton is a legend and loved by everyone in the Country music community from the fans to her fellow artists, but I don't think it will do enough to bring people back in. Oh, and have some different artists on the stage for once..ya know, maybe country music artists?

Returning to Las Vegas instead of Nashville, the show will air on March 7th at 8p.m.
